In the late Summer, I plant a wide range of crops in short rows for Fall harvests. Here we have our mild Golden Globe Turnips off to a very good start in mid September. A few leaves from each plant can be picked now for greens. Here in Connecticut, the turnip roots can be harvested as needed from mid October to Thanksgiving. Before the ground freezes hard, the rest of the turnips should be pulled. To store for Winter, cut off the leaves and wash and dry. Turnips store well for at least two months in a root cellar or refrigerator crisper.
