Our Three Sisters Collection
SKU SFS-C007
-
Almost 400 years ago Native Americans taught early European settlers about The 3 Sisters. This combination of vegetables almost certainly helped them survive. The 3 Sisters include: Flint Indian Corn (for meal), Mature Pole Beans (for baking), and Winter Squash (for boiling or baking). Mature dry Corn and Mature dry Beans eaten together provide complete protein.
Winter Squash yields both vitamins and healthful oil from the seeds. The corn provides a natural pole for the beans.
We have chosen Indian Corn (a flint corn for meal or succotash), Kentucky Wonder Pole Beans (an old-fashioned variety that is long on flavor and vigorous, the 8" - 9" pods have buff color seeds),and Waltham Butternut Squash (a sweet, dark orange fleshed squash, excellent Winter keeper), for Our 3 Sisters Collection.
This Collection, as with all of our seeds, are non GMO and open-pollinated, enabling you to save seeds from year to year. We pack the entire collection in a vapor proof pouch with a desiccant for long term storage.
Detailed planting instructions and a diagram will be included.
