First harvests of dry beans!

I have carefully shelled these mature beans by hand. Now they are laid out on cardboard trays or round pans which have a screen bottom. As they dry, they will shrink and some colors may change slightly. See the tray of Vermont Cranberry Beans, Jacob Cattle Beans and Grampa Neff's Mix. It is unusual to have an early August dry bean harvest at our farm. We did have an early but dry Spring in 2012.
