Here is a close up of just the tasseled out top on the corn stalks. This is Indian Corn in early August. Notice one tassel is red and the other is yellow. The ears will have kernels of different colors too. Health claims are being made, that the dark blue, black or mahogany kernels contain very high levels of antioxidants. I really can't say if that is true or not, but this tasty flint corn does yield far more than most. I am now growing this instead of Krugs dent corn for grinding into corn meal and for succotash.
