2nd planting, Provider Beans

I plant most of my Provider String Beans in mid May here in Connecticut. They are ready to pick in about 5 weeks. With regular rain or watering, you can pick these bush beans every 4-5 days for 3 weeks. I like to do a second small planting of string beans 7 weeks before the first frost. This photo is part of a short row to be harvested in the Fall. With 2nd plantings, we are eating fresh directly from the garden longer. Occasionally an early frost or storm may damage some 2nd plantings, but most will be just fine.
