This is what 150 seeds of Soldier Beans looks like. They are a very old and reliable baking bean from northern New England. They can be counted on to grow in cool weather, but don't mind the heat either. Let dry baking bean plants fully mature and turn brown. Pull the plants up, and store under cover in a place with good ventilation. The beans come out of dry brittle pods more easily. Excellent for baking and in soups, with a mild flavor. They are easy to grow
