This has long been our favorite apple variety. When I read it could be grown true from seed which is extremely rare I began savings seeds and experimenting with starting new trees. So far very few seedlings grow. Because they are also the deers favorite apple tree I am setting them out inside the deer fenced garden area. They are green when ripe late on the trees. In storage they gradually turn yellow and become much sweeter. They are a firm apple perfect for pies and also to eat all Fall until near Christmas just stored in our garage.
