Cover crop of Crimson Clover

This strip along the westerly side of our main garden is increasingly shaded by the growing hard wood trees. Years ago I plowed close to the fence, but as the trees grew and shaded this side of the garden I planted grass. Now it is time to cover crop this strip and prepare it for grass as well. Crimson clover can grow deep roots into our heavy clay soil, and that will improve drainage and fix nitrogen.
