We are continuing to experiment saving this one apple variety which grows true from seed. No need to graft this hardy Russian variety. Rates of germination and survival of seedlings so far is quite low. I started many seeds in hopes of having a few more trees. We just finished using last years harvest which keeps in a cool dry place. Each pot has one or two seeds I have saved as I cut and use the apples. I want the longest keeping apples from my new trees. They are warm not far from the kitchen wood range. Once they come up they will need light.
