The younger laying flock

We have two small flocks for eggs hatched in different years. As chickens age they molt and stop laying for awhile, and also produce fewer but often larger eggs. By staggering the age of our two little flocks, we always have some eggs for the table. Our hens are the best bred layers we can find and have generous sized housing and very good feed. With such good care they live for many years.
