Hill of potatoes in an old tire

These potatoes are really thriving grown in a short stack of old tires. The best soil is concentrated beneath them and the tires block the weeds. Being above grade, they must be watered when ever it is dry though. Here in New England temperatures and rain or snow fall varies widely from week to week in no predictable pattern.
