This is how our new chickens travelled from Montana to Connecticut. We bought four other hens last year in hopes that the two little flocks will moult and rest from laying eggs at different times. When buying ANY livestock look for the very best stock from a seller with an excellent reputation. Lesser livestock will eat far more feed and are more likely to become ill. It is worth paying top dollar when you buy them and saving money later on keeping them. These came from Murray McMurray hatchery and are healthy started pullets which will begin to lay soon. They have an excellent retirement plan here, we keep our hens for several years until they stop laying completely.
