Seed saving is an art that has been passed on from generation to generation in my family. The plants on the left of the screen are Lima Beans grown from seed that my father had saved in his freezer for many years. Year after year my dad and I would put up a supporting fence in his garden for these beans to attach to. Some beans were always left on the vines to fully mature and dry for next years planting. We carefully harvested and stored these. This variety is unknown to me, I do know these beans are large, prolific and delicious! You better believe some mature beans will be saved for next years planting. The seedlings on the right of the screen are Giant Sunflowers. These seed were given to me by a dear friend. They were also saved for generations by her family members.
