Seasoning new cast iron!

For just the two of us we need smaller Dutch ovens. This new 8 inch model holds 2 quarts. After washing with hot soapy water and rinsing, I added a thin layer of grease to the insides of the pot and lid, and wiped it to remove the excess. Then heat the cast iron moderately to bake it in.
