Starting the fire

Under the three sticks of dplit wood I used crumpled newspapers to start the fire. We are indoors with very dry wood and paper, and no wind. Under the fire is a cast iron square griddle, and behind the fire and on either sides are aluminum griddles to reflect the heat back to the fire and out into the room.
