Waltham Butternut Squash

These have to be fully mature before I can begin harvesting the seeds. Here are some on used bread trays with scraps of lumber to allow the air to circulate from underneath. As you can see we dry all the harvest together. Only the best will have their seeds saved. The rest will just be eaten. The large trays make it easy to move outside on the deck on pleasant days. Unlike corn, squirrels do not bother Squash or Pumpkins as they fully mature.
