Our Detroit Dark Red Beets 2014

Here are a few of our beets. The tops will be frozen for later use and the roots will be pickled later today. When very small and tender the tops can be served in salads, later they can be boiled or steamed as a vegetable. The roots can be pressure canned, pickled and canned,or simply stored in a root cellar for Winter meals.
