Not so perfect Apples

These will not be the most perfectly shaped apples when they are ripe, but for sauce or cider, it doesn't matter. They are still an important part of my Fall harvest. In grocery stores, and even at the roadside stand I used to have, most customers like fruits and vegetables which all look identical. I could never understand this. I like variety in everything. It is a common goal when breeding fruits and vegetables to have them ripen all at the same time, and look the same. Taste and nutrition get the back seat.
