Canning tomatoes

Here I am using the single electric burner to keep this pot of water hot. The tomatoes are dipped into the scalding water to loosen the skins so they can be removed easily before canning. It is very handy to be able to put it where ever it is convenient and not tie up a stove top burner. To the right the small pot is for boiling jar lids.
