This pear tree is really loaded!

You may notice our pear trees are not shaped by careful pruning. That is because the deer do most of the fruit tree pruning here, and they just eat which ever branches they happen to choose. In this early July photo, the fruit is still small. When the harvest is near, deer will come from miles around to eat ripe pears. I will put temporary fencing around the trees to protect our harvest.
