Ever Bearing Raspberries

This kind of raspberry can be simply mowed down to the ground after harvest in the fall. That saves all the work of removing each of the canes which bore fruit by cutting them out individually by hand. I mowed these last year, so they have started from ground level, and they are 2-3 feet tall in this July photo. They will bear a good size harvest in September or October, long after other small fruit. You can also prune these like regular raspberries, and pick small harvests over a number of weeks in the summer. Either way extends your harvest when planted with along with other berries.
