Boiling Canning Jar lids

Canning jar lids are boiled in water in a covered pan to sterilize them. First bring the water to a rolling boil, and then drop in the lids, cover the pot and begin timing the process. Remove from heat after the time is up, but keep the cover in place until you are ready to fit them to the jars. Only boil the ones you need for a single batch of jars in your canner.
