Cornbread making 6

After nearly three hours in the slow cooker, on the high setting, the loaf is done. It won't burn in the slow cooker. Your pot won't heat exactly the same as mine, so your cooking time will vary. I have experimented with making both spelt and corn breads in slow cookers. Spelt is similar to wheat, and takes about a half hour longer to cook. I like this size and shape of cooker the best. The tapered sides make it easier to remove the cooked loaves, and it has a removable crock. Rather than wrapping the bread in plastic to keep it fresh, I just return it to the crock after both have cooled.
