PORKERT Hand Grain Mill

This is my favorite because it will grind our large kernels of corn, and make good whole grain flours too. Wheat, rye, spelt or oat flour from our Hulless Oats come out fine enough for breads, cereals or cookies. It is a good balance between grinding quickly, and not being too hard to turn the handle. The replaceable burrs are cast iron, and measure about three and three quarter inches in diameter. The area above the burs has a fender like cover, so most of the ground meal falls into the 1.5 quart bowl in the photo. The hopper on top for grain is also quite generous in size. This mill is made in the CZECH Republic. It is very heavy and durable. The machined parts fit very well, while the rest is left pretty rough. The mill appears to be tin plated. The price was very reasonable for how well it works. It was not made to look at.
