Pot in a pan cooking!

The large 14 inch frying pan may get soot on the bottom. It won't matter much. Any kitchen pot could be used inside it if it has heat resistant handles and you are careful. Did you ever try to get soot off an aluminium or stainless steel pan used over an open fire? It takes forever and you really never get it all off. I chose the shorter trivet under the small 2 quart Dutch oven which kept the 2 quart pot between 200 and 300 degrees. You can see the small pot is away from the hotter back side of the 14 inch frying pan. The 14 inch pots and pans are about 100 degrees hotter on the bottom at the back as at the front away from the direct flames.
